The Big Sur area is home to several Beaches. Some are easily accessible and others are hard to find. The most notable are listed below.

CARMEL BEACH – Not to be confused by Carmel River Beach. Carmel Beach is very easily accessible from Highway 1. It’s also located in Carmel-By-The-Sea.
PFEIFFER BEACH – Big Sur’s most popular coastal access point; however, Pfeiffer Beach can be hard to find. Getting to Pfeiffer Beach can be a challenge. From Highway 1, take the Sycamore Canyon Road. The road can be difficult to see. Sycamore Canyon Road is located between the Big Sur Ranger Station and the Post Office.
SAND DOLLAR BEACH – Sand Dollar Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches around the Big Sur area. It’s located roughly 30 miles South of the Big Sur Station and 30 miles North Cambria. It also within walking distance from Plaskett Creek Campground. The beach is also five miles south of Kirk Creek Campground. The beach is easily accessible from the highway.
